Pet damage treatment for carpets

Pet Damage Treatment

We love pets — but not what they leave behind. Our enzyme treatment eliminates odors and stains at the source, not just the surface.

Why Store-Bought Products Don't Work

If you've ever tried to eliminate pet odors with store-bought sprays, you know the frustration — the smell seems to go away, then comes back stronger than ever, especially on warm or humid days. That's because most consumer products only mask the odor temporarily. They don't break down the uric acid crystals that are the actual source of the smell.

When a pet urinates on carpet, the liquid soaks through the carpet fibers, through the backing, and into the carpet pad — and sometimes into the subfloor beneath. As it dries, uric acid crystals form and bond to the fibers. These crystals are essentially inert when dry, but they reactivate and release odor when they absorb moisture from humidity or cleaning attempts. This is why the smell seems to come back after you clean.

Our Enzyme-Based Treatment Process

Our professional enzyme treatment uses biological agents that literally digest the uric acid crystals, permanently breaking down the odor source rather than masking it. Combined with our patent pending extraction process, we can address contamination at every level — the carpet face, the backing, the pad, and in severe cases, the subfloor.

  • UV light inspection: We use black lights to map all contamination areas, including spots invisible to the naked eye.
  • Contamination assessment: We determine the depth of penetration to choose the right treatment approach.
  • Enzyme application: Professional-grade enzyme solution is applied and allowed to dwell.
  • Deep extraction: Our truck-mounted system extracts the treatment along with dissolved contaminants.
  • Pad treatment: For severe cases, we treat or replace the carpet pad.
  • Subfloor sealing: If contamination has reached the subfloor, we apply an odor-blocking sealant.
  • Final deodorization: A finishing deodorizer ensures a fresh, neutral scent.

Pet Claw and Scratch Damage

Beyond odors and stains, pets can cause physical damage to carpet — particularly at doorways, along walls, and at the base of stairs where dogs and cats tend to scratch. This type of damage often results in fraying, pulled loops, or holes in the carpet. In many cases, we can repair this damage through patching or restretching rather than full replacement.

When Is Replacement Necessary?

We'll always be honest with you about whether cleaning can solve the problem or whether replacement is the better option. In cases of extreme contamination — where urine has soaked through to the subfloor across large areas, or where the carpet has been repeatedly saturated over many years — cleaning may not fully resolve the issue. We'll tell you upfront rather than take your money for a result we can't deliver.

For most pet accidents, however, professional treatment is highly effective — especially when addressed promptly. The sooner you call us after an accident, the better the outcome.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can pet urine odor be permanently removed from carpet?+

Yes, in most cases. We use an enzyme-based treatment that breaks down the uric acid crystals in pet urine — the source of the odor — rather than masking it with fragrance. Severe or repeated soiling in the same spot may require subfloor treatment as well.

How do you find pet urine spots that aren't visible?+

We use a UV black light to locate all pet urine deposits, including old stains that have dried and are invisible to the naked eye. This ensures we treat every affected area, not just the obvious ones.

Will pet stains come out of carpet completely?+

Most pet stains can be significantly reduced or eliminated. Results depend on the type of stain, how long it has been set, and the carpet fiber type. We assess each stain before treatment and give you an honest expectation.

Is your pet odor treatment safe for my pets?+

Yes. Our enzyme-based treatments are pet-safe once dry. We recommend keeping pets off treated areas until the carpet is fully dry, typically 4–6 hours.

Can pet damage treatment save carpet that smells like urine?+

In most cases, yes — and it is far less expensive than carpet replacement. Our treatment penetrates the carpet, pad, and backing to neutralize odor at every layer. We recommend this service before considering replacement.
